Replace sweetened drinks
Liquid fructose reaches the liver faster than solid. This dial shares the triglyceride range with the sugar lever. Uric acid and HOMA-IR stay without a number.
Order of magnitude
Replace soft drinks, juice and juice spritzers with water or unsweetened tea. The same applies to fruit juice as to soft drinks.
The same Te Morenga 2014 range as the big sugar lever, read as a reduction. Wang 2012 and ter Horst 2016 do not supply a urate or HOMA percentage at a typical dose, so those rows are gone.
Effects in detail
Each row is a directed edge from our database, with range, latency, evidence grade and the condition under which it applies at all.
| Marker | Effect | Latency | Mode of action | Outcome | Evidence | Condition | Sources |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Triglycerides | helps. Lowers 4–8 % Te Morenga 2014 +0.11 mmol/L TG on higher sugar, read as a fall, at 150 mg/dL. Symmetry assumed (G-S3). | 2–8 weeks | postprandial and chronic | unclear | Evidence grade B | TG at or above 150 mg/dL |
What this measure costs
Counteracting effects of the same measure.
No counteracting effect is on file for this measure. That does not mean there is none, only that we found no defensible edge.
